I mean… It seems like the people confused about this, Japanese or otherwise, don’t know how to take a joke. No one is actually under the impression Isabelle is drinking whiskey.

The Japanese reaction to the Western meme is… typical, honestly. I’ve talked with a lot of people from a lot of countries and in my experience Japan seems so far to be unique in not understanding Western sarcasm or jokes at all and taking them completely seriously.
